19 Module 4 – Introduction

Panopto is a plugin within Trine University’s Moodle environment. This software is used for screen and video recording. Instructors use Panopto to record their screens while narrating a PowerPoint or a different form of lecture. Panopto can also be used to record a webcam. This way, students can see you and your body language throughout the lecture. In some cases, instructors may choose to record both their screen and their webcam; whereas in others, instructors may only record one or solely the audio. Other than using Panopto to record and provide resources, instructors can assign Panopto assignments to students. This is often the case when a course requires some sort of presentation within an online environment.
