46. Those Who Commit Any Other Faults
If anyone does something wrong, while working at whatever job, whether in the kitchen, the storeroom, the office, the mill, the garden, or at some other craft, or in any other place, 2 or breaks or loses anything, or oversteps a boundary in whatever way, 3 and does not come at once before the abbot and the community, and of his own accord make satisfaction and confess his fault, 4 and if it is revealed by another, let him be subject to a greater correction.
5 If, however, the cause of the sin lies hidden in the soul, let him disclose it only to the abbot or to the spiritual seniors, 6 who know how to cure both their own wounds and those of others without exposing them and making them public.
