34. Whether All Without Distinction Should Receive What is Necessary

As it is written:

Distribution was made to each one as there was need. (Acts 4:35)

By this we do not mean to say that there should be favorites, God forbid; however, there should be consideration for weaknesses. When one needs less, let him give thanks to God and not be sad. However, when one needs more, let him be humbled by his weakness and not become self-important because of the mercy shown to him, and so all the members will be at peace.

Before all else, the evil of murmuring should not appear for any reason whatsoever, by any word or by any sign whatsoever. If anyone is found guilty of this, he should be subject to a more severe discipline.
