68. If Things Impossible Are Assigned to a Brother
If things, perhaps difficult or impossible, are assigned to a brother, he should certainly accept the command from the one making it with all gentleness and obedience. 2 But if he sees that the weight of the burden far exceeds the measure of his own strength, let him—with patience and at an opportune time—present to the one over him the reasons why he cannot possibly do it. 3 He should not become proud or unyielding or defiant.
4 If, however, after he has made his case, the superior still thinks that there is reason for the command, let the junior know that this will be for his benefit, 5 and confident in the help of God, let him obey out of love.
