34. Whether All Without Distinction Should Receive What is Necessary

As it is written:

Distribution was made to each one as there was need. (Acts 4:35)

² By this we do not mean to say that there should be favorites, God forbid; however, there should be consideration for weaknesses. ³ When one needs less, let him give thanks to God and not be sad. ⁴ However, when one needs more, let him be humbled by his weakness and not become self-important because of the mercy shown to him, ⁵ and so all the members will be at peace.

⁶ Before all else, the evil of murmuring should not appear for any reason whatsoever, by any word or by any sign whatsoever. ⁷ If anyone is found guilty of this, he should be subject to a more severe discipline.
