30. The Correction of Young Boys
Every age and intellectual ability ought to have its proper measure. 2 Therefore, whenever there are boys and adolescents or others less able to understand the gravity of excommunication as a punishment, 3 let such individuals, when they commit an offense, be restrained either by severe fasts or sharp blows so that they may be healed.
