Congratulations! You have completed the second module’s learning materials and activities. To finish this module: OER and Course Design, please complete one of the following final assessments associated with this module. A summary of each assignment is provided below. Please review each assignment and decide which you’d prefer to complete and then select the appropriate Google Form for your submission.
Reminder, only members of PALNI institutions should submit assessments as they are the only ones eligible for badges and certifications.
There are two options; please select the one that most aligns with your preferences.
Options 1: Reflection
To reflect on the module, answer the following questions in a format of your choice (written, video, infographic).
- Step 1: Identify a course to evaluate.
- Step 2: State the learning objectives for the course. Identify three learning objectives that meet the criteria outlined in the module OR identify three areas where the learning objectives could be improved (you can also submit a combination of potential improvements and good work).
- Step 3: Identify two ways that open pedagogy could be integrated into this course.
- Step 4: Locate one OER resource that could support the open pedagogy ideas and learning objectives within the course; share the links to the resources.
Evaluation Criteria: Thoroughly address the prompts, explain your perspective, and connect the prompts with specific elements from the module and your university position.

Option 2: Application
In a format that works for you: (if you choose a document, infographic, or another format, please email submission)
- Develop one to two weeks of a course that uses OER and open pedagogy.
- Identify at least one learning goal and one learning objective.
- Design at least one assessment that uses open pedagogy principles and aligns with the identified learning objectives.
- Locate 2 to 3 learning materials, that are openly licensed, that supports the assessment and learning objectives.
Evaluation Criteria: Thoroughly address the prompts, explain your perspective, and connect the prompts with specific elements from the module and your university position.
- Meet minimum requirements of one week, one goal, one learning objective, one assessment, and two to three learning materials.
- Alignment between the learning objective, assessment, and learning materials are made clear.
