Congratulations! You have completed the third module’s learning materials and activities. To finish this module, Where Librarians and Instructional Experts Meet, please complete one of the following final assessments associated with this module. A summary of each assignment is provided below. Please review each assignment and decide which you’d prefer to complete and then select the appropriate Google Form for your submission.
Reminder, only members of PALNI institutions should submit assessments as they are the only ones eligible for badges and certifications.
There are two options; please select the one that most aligns with your preferences.
Option 1: Reflection
To guide you through a structured reflection for this learning journey, we are going to take time to reflect on growth, challenges, and how your experiences connect to the larger university objectives. You can write your response, create a visual journey map, or record a 5-7 minute video addressing these prompts (graphic, video or another format, please email submission).
- Where you began
- Reflect back to when you started these modules. What were you initial goals or expectations? How did you feel about the journey ahead? What did you anticipate being your biggest challenges? What motivated you to persist?
- Highlights
- Identify 2-3 key moments that stand out from this experience. These could include breakthroughs, challenges, or turning points. For each moment, explain why it was significant and how it impacted your learning or approach to the modules.
- Growth
- Reflect on your growth. What perspectives or skills have changed? Where have you experienced the most growth?
- Connection
- How does this experience connect to the larger themes or objectives within your institution?
- Looking forward
- How will you apply this experience in future academic, professional, or personal contexts? What skills or insights will be the most valuable?
- Final Final Reflection
- Reflect on the process of reflecting. How did engaging in reflective practices help you better understand your learning journey?
Evaluation Criteria: Thoroughly address the prompts, explain your perspective, and connect the prompts with specific elements from the module and your university position.

Option 2: Application
To promote long-term use and retention of this content, this application exercise will ask you to think about the future and how you will apply this content, aligning with individual, departmental, and university objectives. In a format that works for you: (if you choose a document, infographic, or another format, please email submission)
- Reflect on the first module, which focused on OER licensing and creation.
- How could you encourage OER usage within your position? Create a 3-5 step action plan to encourage higher rates of OER usage, adoption, and/or creation.
- Reflect on the second module, which focused on course design with OER and open pedagogy.
- How could you integrate or facilitate the use of open pedagogy into your course design process? What partnerships would need to be involved? Outline a course design process, that aligns with your institutional initiatives and policies, but also incorporates open pedagogy.
- Reflect on the final module, which focused on collaboration with other roles, which are both similar and different than your role.
- Consider the puzzle pieces of partnership. Which of these elements do you do already? Which ones could use more attention? Create a nine-month plan for increasing collaboration and connections with the two roles different than your role. If your institution does not have one or both of those roles, create a plan for how you will build those connections at other universities or colleges.
Evaluation Criteria: Thoroughly address each prompt, demonstrate connections between the module content and your action plans, and note where features would align with university, departmental, or individual goals and objectives.
